看到这个题目，很多人可能会疑惑，中国地大物博，人口众多，当然是大国，而且近年来经济发展日新月异，GDP总量已经雄踞世界第二，也是很了不起的呀。
的确，中国确实是一个大国，很多人包括我一想到中国就会联想起很多很宏大很壮丽的词语，我们可以为中国的经济腾飞而骄傲，为中国的空间科学军事科学的发达而自豪，为一切新闻联播里的值得欣喜的镜头而感动，想到中国，我们想到的是电视，是课本，是很多形而上的思想，是离我们很远的别人的生活。
难道不是吗？我们跟中国有什么关系呢？我们是中国人，这是从出生就注定的，我们无法选择。我们从小到大无数次的被灌输爱党爱国，除此之外，我们平时能感受到中国吗？我们要爱中国，中国爱我们吗？
我想很多人可能没有想过这个问题。大家太忙了，根本不会想到这种虚无的问题。那想一些实际的话题吧，中国的GDP总量世界第二，中国很强大，你感觉到了吗？坦白说，我没有感觉，这跟我无关。不光我，我相信跟很多人的生活都没有什么关系。中国这两个伟大的字眼所笼罩的耀眼的光环，对我们来说，就像天上的星星，可望而不可即。
中国很伟大，我们很渺小。
我不知道中国人是不是最聪明的，不过我知道中国人是非常勤奋的。世界上很多很多国家都已经实现带薪假多年，中国人还是很习惯只有教师才能有除了法定节假日以外的假期。当很多资本主义国家的工薪阶层假期带着家人去国外度假时，中国人在努力工作。当很多资本主义国家的人们抗议待遇低上街游行的时候，中国人仍然在努力工作，干着更累的活，拿着少的多的多的工资。不知道现在中国有多少家庭可以在假期带着小孩去国外旅游，至少我小的时候没有过，长大了也没有过，不光没有去过国外旅游，甚至国内都没有游玩过，很简单，我们的钱要用在更重要的地方，比如交学费。
我们总是被教育我们生活在最好的国度，最好的时代，却总是发现世界上“生活在水深火热中”的人们生活更幸福。
聊天的时候发现不光是美国和欧洲发达国家，连墨西哥、巴西这些地方的苦难群众去世界上大多数国家竟然也不需要签证！而我们中国人去哪里都要签证！我觉得好羞愧好耻辱啊！我们每年都要诚惶诚恐的按时交上签证申请，交上大笔的银子，然后焦急的等待几个月甚至半年，然后去移民局排上半天的队盖上一个章。
我们中国人真是伟大啊！我们都可以免费给别国的人进行爱国主义教育。我都可以想象，几乎任何一个中国以外的同事，在看到我们每年为了签证的事情忙的焦头烂额、焦急等待的时候，他们的爱国感、民族自豪感会油然而生。小学作文中经常用到的语句，我觉得用在这里很合适。
我们很爱国，我们也希望中国能爱我们。甚至连我们不屑一顾的海岛台湾的护照，也可以去世界上绝大多数国家免签证！中国就沦落到跟朝鲜，伊拉克，一些非洲落后国家为伍，我好为我们的祖国感到羞耻。中国的经济发展了，外交为什么还那么窝囊呢？中国强大了，为什么就不给人民一点实惠呢？有尊严的生活只是说说骗小孩的吗？
我有一个梦想，希望中国能真正的变成一个大国，变成一个能让普通百姓从心里热爱的国家。
中国什么时候能体现出大国风范
Sirap Christmas party
昨天去参加了Sirap组织的Christmas party。人不过，有二三十个人，不过还好，还认识了两个中国老乡。
进门就喝到了热乎乎的glögg，有两个小锅，分别盛着含酒精和不含酒精的，当然还有杏仁，葡萄干，还有姜片。遇到好几个英国人，听口音就可以听出来。有一个苏格兰人，喜欢喝whiskey，刚进门的时候，我们喝glögg，他就自己拿着whiskey喝，我好奇的问他是哪里人，他就提示我whiskey哪里有名，可惜我是个酒盲，小徐赶快说是苏格兰的吧，确实猜对了，我觉得挺不好意思，就说苏格兰有很多城堡，结果苏格兰人说很多城堡都是废墟了，不像捷克，有那么多钱去重修。小徐问他去过哪些地方，结果他第一个说的国家是英格兰，小徐就说都是UK的嘛，不过苏格兰人就认为英格兰跟苏格兰是不同的国家，挺有趣的。后来这个苏格兰人还唱了一首苏格兰的歌，可惜一句都听不懂。他跟另一个英格兰的人合唱了一个很长的英语歌，这次英格兰的人全都能唱下来，苏格兰的人有的部分就不大熟。苏格兰人还讲了一个笑话，就是penny for your thoughts http://www.thevoiceofreason.co.uk/WorldsFunniestJokes/PennyForYourThoughts.htm
挺有趣的，我也第一次知道penny还有这个意思。
有一些自助餐，也挺好吃的哦，有好几种面包，有一种面包夹着巧克力和葡萄干的，还有几种薯片，我喜欢玉米片，还有火腿，葡萄，故萝卜等，还有黄瓜泡菜和橄榄，喜欢黄瓜泡菜酸酸甜甜的味道，还有Prosciutto ，就是意大利的一种比较干的腌过的生肉，挺好吃的，就是不知道这种生肉会不会有细菌真菌寄生虫什么的。
墙边有一台钢琴，可惜不会弹，又激起了我想学钢琴的欲望，以后有机会一定学一下，呵呵。
快结束的时候还有一个小测试，全是关于Stockholm的，比如stockholm是谁建立的，夏天经常见到的热气球跟城市建设有什么关系，瑞典1967年发生了什么事情，Volvo的名称来历，最后一个题是选择哪一个东西可以吃，答案是Vacuum Cleaner，因为吸尘器瑞典语是Dummsugare，也是一种小点心的名称，而且还非常常见，一盒有好多个棒状的，外边是巧克力，中间是绿色的像捆起来的丝带，很甜很甜的甜点，fika的时候经常可能会吃到。这个题我倒是猜对了，不过其他的绝大多数都不知道。做对最多的人有礼品，看上去好像不错啊，他们的知识很渊博啊。
这次party我是在facebook上发现的，当时的信息是提前报名30kr，现场交钱50kr，不过晚上去了一直没有发现在哪里交钱，而且他们的年度会议说sirap财政收入平衡，还略有盈余，估计就免费了吧。这种活动挺好的，希望他们以后多多举办，因为是international的，大家都说英语，交流起来也很方便。
personal space and China-Western cultural difference
Last week we had a nice retreat and nice lunches I think. But not everyone has the same idea. When I had lunch near two girls, I found one girl A just put the salad box in front of the other girl B. I knew that they are good friends. I was just a little surprised to find that A doesn’t like salad. And after a while the main course of lunch is laid on. It’s fish and potatoes. The fish tasted OK except it’s a little sweet. Maybe they just put more sugar by mistake or it’s just their way of doing this kind of fish. I eat my fish gladly and I found A put the fish plate in front of B again. This time B has finished her fish. So she has an empty plate. A only eat some bit of fish and the majority is left uneated. A exchanged their plate. It seems strange to me. “You should eat more. You are so slim.” I said to A. After I said this, I knew that I did something wrong. I found the other girl B is a little flushed and B said, “I don’t know why the fish is so sweet. It’s strange.” And B didn’t eat the left over fish either. I also feel a little embarassed.
Well, this is clearly culture difference. In China it’s not important to keep personal space. Almost opposite, we like to be more intimate in a way. It’s quite common to ask each other their eating habbit and weight and other life details. And it’s also quite common to say to a young girl that you are too slim, you should eat more. We don’t think it offensive at all. Instead we think it’s a nice way to express you care about them and you are friendly to them by talking about personal issues. But in Western cultures it’s totally different. It’s not polite to comment on other’s personal preferences, even if you mean no harm. It’s just not appropriate. Well, I feel too relaxed that day because I think they are nice people. And I didn’t think much before I say those words.
raining season begins
It’s raining outside. Little rain, still a lot of snow. Snow hasn’t gone while raining has already arrived.
Stockholm has only two seasons: rainy season and snowy season.
snow again
it’s snowing again. There’s always a lot of snow here, almost every day. It’s not cold, though, about 0 degree. The snow flakes are sometimes very big, like feathers. The ground is covered with a thick layer of snow. It will be 20 cm of snow if no one cleaned them. At some places because the snow are pushed aside the street, there’s a big pile of snow of more than 2 meters. Newly fallen snow are very fluffy and soft, like fresh cream cake. If you step on the snow, you will get a footprint immediately as deep as your ankle. It’s so soft as though you were stepping in whipping cream. Interesting!
